Missouri Compromise
The Missouri Compromise was created by Henry Clay. He thought it would be fair if the north and south agreed that Missouri could be a southern slave state and Maine to be a northern free state. He also created the 36" 30" line east of the Mississippi River, beneath Utah, Colorado, Kansas, and Missouri. Also any of the southern states can choose to be slave free.
